Shahid Kapoor's advice for his children: Don't get into acting, it is very complex

Shahid Kapoor shared that he wishes for a different path for his children, Misha and Zain. In a candid podcast interview, he also shared his hopes for their future away from the limelight.

Actor Shahid Kapoor recently shared that he does not wish for his children to join the film industry. In an interview, Shahid expressed his desire for his children, Misha and Zain, to pursue different careers. Shahid will be next seen in Deva.

On Raj Shamani’s podcast Figuring Out, Shahid mentioned that while he believes his children are inherently confident and prefers that they avoid the complexities and challenges of acting. Shahid stated, "There are many things that I do not want them to take from me. I want them to be more confident inherently, which I think they both are."

He emphasised that although the final decision rests with them, he would advise them to choose simpler paths. "I wasn’t inherently that confident. Ideally, I wouldn’t want them to do my job. Don’t get into acting. Do something else. There are many ups and downs, it’s very rough. If they want to, it’s their choice, but I would like to choose something simple. That is too complex", he said.

Additionally, Shahid highlighted the values he wishes to instil in his children, such as always doing the right thing regardless of the circumstances. He said, "Always do the right thing, I always try and do the right thing, whether I am liking it, whether someone else is not liking it, whether it is damaging to me, doesn’t matter, I will do the right thing."

On the professional front, Shahid Kapoor is gearing up for his upcoming film Deva, where he plays a police officer involved in solving a high-profile case. Directed by Rosshan Andrrews and produced by Zee Studios along with Siddharth Roy Kapur, the film also features Pooja Hegde in a significant role as a journalist. Deva is slated for release in cinemas on January 31.
