Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta’s Batwara 1947 to release tomorrow

New Delhi: Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta’s Batwara 1947 film will be released on the big screens tomorrow.

Its music is composed by AR Rahman, while the lyrics are penned by Javed Akhtar.

Preity Zinta is making a comeback in Bollywood after a long hiatus and has shared screen space with Sunny Deol in Farz, The Hero: Love Story of a Spy and Bhaiji Superhit over the years.

The film is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced under Aamir Khan Productions also features Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal and Abhimanyu Singh in key roles.

Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the film backed by Aamir Khan Productions is set against the backdrop of 1947 Partition. The film will capture the emotions, agony and displacement during one of the most impactful time in Indian history.

The poster of the film was released in the month of June. It gave a glimpse to the much anticipated film capturing Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol and Ali Fazal.

Makers were reluctant to rename the film from Lahore 1947. As the title rights of Batwara are attached to the 1989 film Batwara, producer Aamir Khan had to approach the family of late producer Salim Akhtar to obtain the title rights.
