Fawad Khan’s next Bollywood movie “Abir Gulal” may never make it to Indian cinemas. Sources within the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting confirmed that the movie has been banned in India following the Pahalgam attack. The revelation follows an attack by a terrorist in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which left 26 individuals, who were predominately tourists, dead, amidst widespread condemnation.

Fawad Khan was quick to post his sadness and his condemnation of the attack as a “horrific incident” on his Instagram story. Not only the film, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees has called for a ban on Pakistani artists working in the Indian film industry.

The FWICE has called for a total boycott of Pakistani talent, comprising artists, singers, and technicians, in the Indian entertainment industry. This is not the first time Fawad Khan has been in controversy in India; his 2016 film “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” was also tainted by protests after the Uri terror attack.
