by Agencies · LatestLYAt CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas, Yash made a striking impression not just as a global face of Indian cinema but as a producer shaping ambitious storytelling alongside co-producer Namit Malhotra for Ramayana. At the event, when asked about his highly anticipated project, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, Yash offered an in-depth look at the film’s vision. ‘Toxic Is Not a Typical Gangster Film’: Yash Breaks Down His Upcoming Movie With Geetu Mohandas (Watch Video).
Yash on What Makes ‘Toxic’ Different
Speaking during media interactions, Yash shed light on the film’s distinctive approach to action and emotion. Emphasising scale and innovation, he said, “With the scale, with the intensity, there should be something unique about each sequence. There should be a variation. There should be a different style, a different form adapted in action.” For him, action isn’t just about spectacle; it’s about impact. “Action should be visceral. You should feel the pain. Basically, the mirror neurons should get activated. That’s why we all like cinema.”
But beyond its stylised action, Toxic aims to explore deeper, often uncharted emotional territories. Yash reflected on the purpose of storytelling, adding, “When you watch a movie, why do we go to movies? Because everybody can’t experience every emotion in life. So when you are watching a film, you go through somebody’s life, and you understand problems or pains.” He further revealed the film’s emotional depth, stating, “The darkest emotions, darkest dilemmas of human emotions have been captured in this film—or at least we’ve tried to capture that.”
Yahs Talks About ‘Toxic’ at CinemaCon 2026
Importantly, Yash stressed that the narrative doesn’t rely on overt darkness. “It’s very layered. It’s not like in your face. It’s not like we are pushing it on your face and saying this is the dark side. No, it’s very layered—in a metaphoric and emotional way.” This subtlety, he believes, is key to how the film connects with audiences.
At its core, however, Toxic balances intensity with emotional anchors. Highlighting its narrative spine, Yash shared, “It’s a love story. There’s a love story deep down. It’s a father-son revenge saga. So I think it’s very well designed.” This blend of raw emotion and layered storytelling is what sets the film apart, promising both scale and substance.
