As you should know by know, Lanez was convicted of the 2022 shooting of Thee Stallion back in 2023 where he was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Aside from the actual assault, one of the things that had always been up in the air was the sexual relationship between the two—specifically whether or not the two had slept together. In a famous interview with Gayle King for CBS Mornings in 2022, the “BOA” rapper told King that she and Lanez never did.

Now, however, that appears to be false as evidenced by a certain scene in the new documentary where Thee Stallion admits to lying to King and revealing that she did sleep with Lanez after all.
“I lied to Gayle King bitch. First of all, ain’t even know that bitch was finna ask me about that bitch. I thought we was finna talk about the shooting. Why is you asking me about fucking Tory,” Thee Stallion said. “That’s not what this is about. [And] even if I was, I fucked that nigga like once—maybe twice on drunk nights. You kept catching me out of my fucking mind.
As the clip started to circulate online, people took it as an opportunity to again paint the “Bourbon” rapper as a liar and use it as an excuse to essentially argue that Lanez couldn’t have shot her given the fact that they had a prior sexual relationship—despite what Thee Stallion had led us to believe.
However, there are a few things that should be noted here. The first thing is that the “Mamushi” rapper had already admitted to lying about sleeping with Lanez back in 2022 when the trial was going on. So, her saying this on-camera isn’t some sort new revelation. The second thing that should be noted is that just because you sleep with somebody—under the influence or not—that doesn’t mean that person cannot harm you later.
In fact, studies done by the World Heath Organization (WHO) in 2024 alone show that 13 percent of women and girls aged 15–49 who have been in a relationship experienced physical or sexual violence from that same intimate partner. According to the CDC’s National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey (NISVS), 41 percent of women will experience intimate partner violence (IPV) during their lifetime. What this means is that women are more likely to be harmed by someone they’ve been sexually intimate with than not, which just lends further credence to Lanez guilty conviction.
What’s also interesting is the way Thee Stallion described the moments she and Lanez got intimate, noting that she was allegedly drunk during the times it happened. Having sex while intoxicated and only during moments where a party is intoxicated could be classified as a form of sexual coercion and could also open up a whole other can of worms when it comes to the topic of consent and sexual predation.
Yet and still, as more and more folks begin to watch the documentary, it’s clear that there are supporters and detractors on both sides:
“So because she slept with Tory, yall think that gave him license to shoot her? I’m confused,” wrote one user on X/Twitter.
“Black women are literally being murdered by their ex and currently partners, friends and random men every single day at an astronomical rate. She was almost included in that number. Whether they had sex or not should never and has never mattered,” another user responded.
“If I get assaulted and I have been sexually assaulted before, for context. The person who did it is someone I’ve had sex with before then apparently makes you less of a victim in the public’s eye because once you’re attached to a man, it’s now your fault. See how they did that?’ another user wrote.
Her detractors felt otherwise:
“Meg lied on her dead mother that she ain’t sleep with @torylanez now she wants to come out admitting she lied for her new documentary girl once you get caught in a lie like that nothing else you got to say is credible,” one user said.
“Imagine following your bestfriend’s twitter and seeing them tweet “I would’ve lied too” in reference to Megan thee stallion lying ab fucking her best friend’s nigga on live tv. Watch who’s in your circle,” another wrote.
“Now I’m convinced Megan thee Stallion SLOW SLOW!! Because you admit to lying to Gayle King saying you didn’t know she was going to ask you that? Girl stfu. bahahahaha oh she will be back tracking sooooooon #FreeTory just a weird ass female,” said another.
