Brutal gaming masterpiece Sekiro to get anime adaptation

by · Boing Boing

From Software's beautiful-but-punishing precision action masterpiece Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is an amazing game, but it's somewhat incorrectly named: I died literally hundreds of times playing it.

That trend has continued in the game's newly-announced anime adaptation, Sekiro: No Defeat. Again, I was defeated hundreds of times! That self-resurrecting monkey was complete bullshit!

No Defeat looks like it'll faithfully adapt the events of the game, even bringing back the original voice cast for maximum authenticity. All the feudal Japanese political intrigue you missed because you were too busy getting beaten to a pulp can actually be appreciated now! If you tried getting into Sekiro but couldn't get past that damn monkey, this seems like a less rage-inducing way to experience its story. Save your controllers and treat yourself to some of the most beautiful-looking anime I've ever seen when it launches… sometime this year. No further details beyond that, unfortunately.
