A mini arcade cabinet for Lenovo's gaming tablet
by Rob Beschizza · Boing Boing"Mini arcade"-type products tend to be rinky and "tablet dock" products tend to be dinky, but I think I like Lenovo's new mini arcade dock for its Legion Y700 Android tablet. It has an 8-direction joystick, 8 control buttons and five at the back of the panel, and a power switch. There are three styles: one with just Lenovo branding, one with a The King of Fighters '97 decal, and one with Metal Slug 3 art. [via Notebook Check]
The dock charges off Lenovo's standard USB Type-C power adapter it ships with its Legion tablets, too. Likewise, the Arcade Dock should keep a connected tablet topped up as well.
The Legion Y700 Arcade Dock is compatible with both the Legion Y700 Gen 4 and Legion Y700 Gen 5. By extension, the dock will also work with the Legion Tab Gen 5; it is unclear whether Lenovo plans to offer these arcade accessories globally, though.
399 Yuan, about $60, though you'll be paying the importer's markup and God knows what tariffs. My only other problem is that you need a Y700 for it: though a well-reviewed gaming model, the 3:2 aspect ratio display is imperfect for oldschool stuff.
