Brie Larson joins Super Mario Galaxy as cosmic princess Rosalina

After a weird teaser that saw the series move to space, perhaps a little too fast, full details and a complete cast list for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie have finally been revealed with the release of a full-length trailer. Truly, no one is more oppressed than us Super Mario Sunshine fans, who have been so cruelly skipped over in this adaptation.

Remember the absolute whiplash you felt when it was first announced that Chris Pratt, of all people, would play Mario? Brace yourself to feel that again: Benny Safdie of all people is playing Bowser Jr., who appears to take over from Jack Black's Bowser as the movie's big bad. Make up your own 'Uncut Star Bits' joke here and pretend I did it, thanks.

Also joining the cast is Brie Larson, who's really cornering the market on blonde alien women by playing Rosalina. If this is anything like the first movie, it'll be a colorful enough spectacle that's entertaining without being especially deep. Just like the Mario games themselves! Still, it promises to be a good time…
