The Chase viewers stunned by 'ridiculous' early wedding time revealed on ITV quiz show
by Danni King, Gemma Jones · BristolLiveChase fans were left stunned during Thursday's (13 March) episode of the ITV quiz show when they discovered an obscure wedding rule. Host Bradley Walsh introduced four fresh contestants who were eager to challenge the day's Chaser, Anne Hegerty, famously known as the Governess.
Bradley Walsh was on hand to greet four hopefuls aiming to outsmart The Chaser. Andrew from Oldham, Karen from Whickham, Ashleigh from Norfolk, and Sam from Leeds teamed up to showcase their trivia prowess against the formidable quizzing expert.
During the intense battle of wits, a question regarding wedding traditions emerged. Brad queried the contestant: "In England, what is normally the earliest time of day a wedding ceremony can start in an Anglican church?" The choices given were 8am, 10am, or 12pm.
The contestant guessed noon, reasoning: "Just because people need to get ready?" Yet, the audience was taken aback when it was disclosed that the correct answer was actually 8am.
Fans took to Twitter to express their amazement. One viewer exclaimed: "#TheChase Blimey, who gets married at 8am? You'd have to be up in the middle of the night to get ready." (sic)
Another bewildered fan questioned: "How the f*** are people supposed to be ready to get ready at 8am? ! ! ... #TheChase." (sic)
Another was completely caught off guard, commenting: "8am, never knew. Seems way too early #TheChase." Meanwhile, someone else shared their disbelief with the post: "WTF would want to get married at 8am #thechase." (sic)
Earlier this week, The Chase viewers were left scratching their heads over a "ridiculous" question regarding the cost of securing a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, reports the Express.
Bradley posed the question: "As of 2023, what was the fee for having a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame?" with options of £750, £7,500, or a whopping £75,000.
Susan from Stoke-on-Trent didn't hesitate to choose the highest figure, confidently saying: "I'm going high. I think those people can afford it." Bradley expressed his skepticism, remarking: "I don't think it's that. I think it's B."
To everyone's surprise, Susan's guess of £75,000 was spot on. Walsh congratulated her, "Well played, one step closer from home," and revealed that Jenny Ryan, the Chaser, had also been misled by the same assumption as him and answered incorrectly.
Despite her success, Susan did not share how she arrived at her correct answer.
The Chase airs on weekdays on ITV1 at 5pm
