Dying Light: The Beast's Xbox achievements will reflect its diverse gameplay, Techland's franchise director Tymon Smektala has told us. Although this new entry will have a more linear storyline, players can still expect to indulge in various other activities when we return to the well-trodden boots of Kyle Crane.
Techland opens up about the Xbox achievement list ahead of release
- Fans can expect a familiar list with the Dying Light: The Beast achievements
- Release window: Summer 2025
- Platforms: Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One
This entry puts us back in the shoes of Kyle Crane, 13 years after the first game. Crane has been experimented on, and The Beast sees him searching Castor Woods for his captors, wielding new abilities, and coming face-to-face with the monstrosities brought on by the infection sweeping across the globe in Techland's upcoming Xbox horror game.
We had a chance to ask about the game's achievements, and it seems fans will find a familiar stack of Xbox achievements waiting for them. If you've played either of the first two games, you'll know that Techland offers a pretty varied list of achievements to work through. Alongside the usual story-related suspects, the lists generally task you with exploring the worlds, taking on side missions, completing open-world challenges, killing infected in certain ways, and more.

"Achievements in Dying Light: The Beast will reflect the game’s diverse gameplay elements — combat, exploration, challenges, and secrets," Tymon Smektala said. "That unique combination has always been the secret sauce to Dying Light’s success, and the achievements have always reflected that."
With The Beast having started life as an expansion for Dying Light 2 and offering a linear storyline, I had wondered if the team would still fill the world with side activities.
I've spent just over 200 hours playing the second game, thanks to an achievement list that has pushed me to explore every nook and cranny, and it has been a blast. I highly doubt this third entry will take anywhere near that long to complete, but I was happy to learn that Techland will still be offering a similarly varied list of achievements to conquer.
What's more, some of the achievements will "push players to master Crane's new abilities," which give him beast-like powers with enhanced strength, speed, and agility. The list will also "reward those who explore every corner of Castor Woods," and Smektala teases that "there might be a few surprises for completionists who dig deep into the game's hidden content!"
The newest entry in the Dying Light series launches on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One sometime this summer, so we'll need to wait a little longer until we see the achievement list. Techland says this game will return to the franchise's horror roots, delving further into the survival horror genre, and focuses on "survival, resource scarcity, and the sheer horror of the night."
