The gorgeous South of Midnight joins Xbox Game Pass in April

Compulsion Games and Xbox have announced a South of Midnight release date. The upcoming third-person action-adventure will join Game Pass in April 2025.

The South of Midnight release date has been revealed! You will be able to start unlocking the South of Midnight achievements on April 8, 2025, when the southern gothic Xbox action-adventure game launches for Xbox Series X|S and joins Xbox Game Pass.

South of Midnight launches for Xbox Series X|S and PC on April 8, 2025

  • Compulsion Games has announced an April 8 release date for South of Midnight
  • The upcoming third-person action-adventure game is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC and joins Game Pass on day one
  • Compulsion has also revealed a Premium Edition of the game, which lets you access South of Midnight five days early

In the new story trailer, we see protagonist Hazel and her mom preparing for a hurricane. The storm turns out to be huge, and their home ends up being pulled downriver in a flood. Somehow, Hazel is pulled into a strange "world where reality and fantasy are interwoven, and ancient creatures from folklore emerge." We are also introduced to a strange talking catfish creature and some other odd characters, and we get a glimpse of a huge albino alligator. It looks wild and like a lot of fun!

South of Midnight launches for Xbox Series X|S and PC on April 8, 2025. It will also be available to play on day one with Game Pass. However, if you pre-order the Premium Edition, you will be able to play South of Midnight five days early on April 3, 2025. The Premium Edition also includes digital access to an artbook, comic book, soundtrack, music video, and the director's cut of the Weaving Hazel's Journey documentary.
