During an interview with the Breakfast Club podcast this week, pro skateboarder Tyshawn Jones said that he will feature in an upcoming Tony Hawk's Pro Skater remaster. Jones wasn't in any of the original games, but he was added to the roster for 2020's Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 remaster alongside several other current pro skaters.
“I’m in a Tony Hawk coming out, that’s cool,” Jones said. “They got a new one they remastering so that’s about to come out. I was in the last one.”
Jones didn't hint at what the upcoming remaster would be, however. Activision was reportedly working on a Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 remaster, but the project was supposedly scrapped when developer Vicarious Visions was merged into Blizzard during Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
On the original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater's 25th anniversary last year, Hawk did tease that more skating awesomeness could be on the way for fans. "Thanks to Activision, Neversoft (RIP), and all of you that played THPS in those formative years" Hawk said on Instagram. "I’m not supposed to tease anything else about the future of the series, but there will be a future."
Now, industry insider eXstas1s, who has been a reliable source for Game Pass leaks in the past, reports that a Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 remaster is still in development, and it'll apparently shadow drop into Xbox Game Pass following the Xbox Games Showcase in June. The game is said to also be launching on Steam and PS5 at the same time.
Xbox Game Pass' potential lineup is already looking hot this year, with heavy hitters like Fable and The Outer Worlds 2 already confirmed and possible launches of Gears of War: E-Day and State of Decay 3. We could see a shake-up on our list of the best Game Pass games.
