Team Ninja and Platinum Games have announced Ninja Gaiden 4 as the mystery game at the Developer Direct. The long-awaited sequel will join Game Pass on day one.

A new Ninja Gaiden is officially on the way! Announced during the Xbox Developer Direct, Ninja Gaiden 4 will launch for Xbox Sieres X|S and PC in fall 2025. It also joins our list of upcoming Game Pass games as Ninja Gaiden 4 will join Xbox Game Pass on day one.

After a 13-year hiatus, we are finally getting a new entry into the Ninja Gaiden series. Ninja Gaiden 4, which is being developed by Team Ninja and Platinum Games and published by Xbox Game Studios. According to a post on Xbox Wire, this is being "positioned as the direct sequel to Ninja Gaiden 3. While maintaining the dark and gritty world that the series is known for."

Players will take on the role of a new protagonist named Yakumo. However, Master Ninja Ryu Hayabusa will play a "significant role in the story" and serve as "a major challenge and growth milestone for Yakumo." Team Ninja also notes that Ryu will be playable," ensuring his prowess and presence is deeply felt in Ninja Gaiden 4."
