Although we're yet to officially hear about its existence, the Oblivion remake is reportedly launching very soon, offering fans a chance to work their way through The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion achievements again. We could see the Xbox RPG revealed in the coming weeks.
Unreal Engine 5 Elder Scrolls Oblivion remake reveal is reportedly imminent
- Developer Virtuos is reportedly developing an Elder Scrolls Oblivion remake using Unreal Engine 5
- Recent rumors suggest the game will be revealed in the coming weeks
- It is rumored to launch sometime before June 2025
After many months of rumors, we could see The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake announced very soon. According to reliable insider NatetheHate, the game will reportedly launch before June, with a reveal happening soon. VGC, however, has heard that the game could launch as early as next month.
We're still yet to learn from official sources if the game actually exists, but there have been a slew of reports suggesting that Virtuos is working on the remake. A report in January suggested that improvement will be made to many of the original Oblivion's gameplay systems, including modernized archery mechanics, a reworked blocking system, a refreshed UI, and more.
The game is reportedly being developed using Unreal Engine 5 for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC, and will apparently use a "pairing system" to render new graphics in Unreal while the original Oblivion engine handles gameplay, physics, and so on.
It's worth noting that we've seen reveal rumors for this Oblivion remake before, so it's worth taking this with a pinch of salt until we see anything official from Virtuos or Bethesda. In more positive news, if the game really does exist, there's a good chance that we'll see it join our list of upcoming Game Pass games since Xbox now owns the franchise.
