Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition free upgrade is on the way

With the next Darksiders game on the horizon, preparing to take us on another adventure with one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, THQ Nordic has announced that it is upgrading Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition — a version of the game featuring all of its DLC. The upcoming Xbox Series X|S upgrade will "drastically" improve the game's load times, add ray tracing, enhance the lighting and shadows, and offer 4K resolution.

The upgrade will be free for all current owners of Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition and automatically applied via Smart Delivery. Newcomers can purchase the game for $29.99 / £23.99 / €29.99.

Darksiders 2 puts us in the boots of Death, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, who has been awakened by the End of Days and embarks on a quest to redeem his brother's name, only to find that all of Creation is in peril as the result of an ancient grudge.

If you fancy checking out Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition, it's currently half-price in this week's Xbox sales.
