EastEnders' Charlie Brooks flaunts weight loss in stunning outfit

EastEnders star Charlie Brooks has wowed her Instagram followers with a stunning photo showcasing her dramatic weight loss. The 44 year old actress, best known for her role as the scheming Janine Butcher in the popular BBC series, struck a pose in a slinky black dress she purchased 22 years ago, expressing her delight to fans by saying she was "very happy".

In the selfie, Charlie is seen wearing the geometric print mini dress paired with chunky black boots and gold jewellery, her blonde hair stylishly heaped atop her head. She shared her sentiments about the dress in the caption: "Bought this dress over 22 years ago, before my kid was born, and I STILL love it. It actually makes me feel very happy. Funny how a piece of clothing can do that. My face doesn't look happy. But I am actually very happy."

The post received a wave of adoration from her followers, with one commenting: "Love it! Bonus it still fits and you look amazing! ! Xx."

Charlie, who welcomed her daughter Kiki 20 years ago with former fiancé Tony Truman, has previously spoken about becoming "slightly obsessive" over her weight loss journey after shedding two stone in just two months, reports the Mirror.

She released her fitness DVD, 'Charlie Brooks' Before and After Workout', in 2005 but later discussed how the experience impacted her self-esteem.

In an interview with The Sun's Fabulous Magazine in 2021, Charlie opened up about having "quite a complicated relationship" with her body and described how she went "all in" during the production of her workout DVD.

She remarked: "I don't regret it, because it gave me an awareness of my body, but on the other hand, I crossed over into that kind of slightly obsessive weight loss thing.

"You know, always wanting to get back to 'that'.

"I've definitely had quite a complicated relationship with my body, never feeling pretty enough or healthy enough, and with the DVD it was extreme. I went all in."

Charlie also shared that she still faces challenges and candidly confessed that sometimes she feels "disgusting", yet she believes she is now about "70 per cent" on the path to body acceptance.

In a recent update, Charlie disclosed that she's not been working for the past two and a half years following her dramatic departure from a popular UK soap opera.

Famed for her role as Janine in the iconic British TV series, Charlie took to Instagram to discuss her life post-BBC show.

Alongside a joyful snapshot of herself clad in black attire with matching sunglasses, Charlie expressed her contentment with her current lifestyle, writing: "Life is good. As someone who is generally validated by work...Turns out being at home, chilling with my dog, taking long walks, reforming, reading and actually getting to hang out with my friends doing everything and nothing makes me really happy."
