BBC Call The Midwife Nancy Corrigan actress says 'she's not leaving us' after surprise comeback
by Ben Lyons, Katie Palmer · NottinghamshireLiveBBC One's Call the Midwife viewers were treated to a delightful surprise this weekend as Nancy Corrigan's daughter, Colette, played by Francesca Fullilove, made an appearance for a dress fitting in Poplar. She was seen with Violet Buckle, played by Annabelle Apsion, and Shelagh Turner, portrayed by Laura Main, preparing for Nancy's eagerly awaited wedding.
While Violet revealed a last-minute alteration to Nancy's wedding gown, Shelagh humorously commented on the bridesmaids' potential difficulties squeezing into their dresses. Fans were pleased to see Colette again, but it wasn't until the preview of the upcoming episode that they saw Nancy herself.
The sneak peek showed Nancy, played by Megan Cusack, and Colette warmly reuniting with old acquaintances in Poplar. Their return has sparked rumours, with many believing it's connected to Nancy's impending marriage.
After concerns emerged following her earlier departure in season 14, the BBC has confirmed that actress Megan Cusack is not leaving the show for good. Nancy had previously taken up a position at Netherditch hospital after her engagement to Roger, played by Conor O'Donnell, claiming it was a better move for her and her daughter and brought her closer to Roger.
However, she vowed to come back to what she affectionately refers to as "home" in Poplar for her wedding, suggesting her exit was never intended to be permanent, reports Wales Online.
Megan, the actress who plays Nancy on the show, has reassured fans that her character isn't going anywhere despite recent romantic developments. "Just because she's fallen in love, she's not leaving us," she confirmed.
"There's lots of things happening, she's got lots going on, you know, a job offer, an engagement, an overbearing mother-in-law-to-be. So she's got a lot going on."
As preparations for Nancy's wedding get underway, it seems we may be seeing more of her as she gets ready for her big day. This leaves viewers questioning whether this is just a temporary return or if Nancy is back for good.
