Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight is set to produce a film about Oasis, coinciding with the band's upcoming reunion tour.

After their split in 2009 following a backstage fight at Rock en Seine festival, Oasis sent waves of excitement through their fans by confirming they are gearing up for a reunion. The announcement about the tour was made last summer.

The prolific 65-year-old writer, whose credits include the Oscar-nominated Maria and the Disney+ series A Thousand Blows, has been tapped to lead the film project. While eager fans await further details, a release date for the film remains under wraps.

Having parted ways more than 15 years ago, their UK and Ireland tour itinerary includes illustrious venues such as Manchester's Heaton Park, London's Wembley Stadium, Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium, and Dublin's Croke Park spanning across July, August, and September, reports the Irish Mirror.

Ticket sales for the UK and Ireland concerts saw prices surge due to "unprecedented demand", provoking fan outrage and calls for intervention from Government officials and competition authorities concerning dynamic pricing practices.

Extending their reach beyond local shores, the band's ambitious schedule takes them across Japan, South Korea, South America, Australia, the US, Mexico, and Canada.

Oasis, the much-loved Manchester band who signed with Creation Records in 1993, rocketed to stardom following the release of their debut album Definitely Maybe on August 29, 1994. The group enjoyed a string of hits including Champagne Supernova, Wonderwall, Supersonic and Live Forever.

The Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel, were infamous for their feuds, but tensions peaked at a French festival when Liam started swinging a guitar. This led to Noel's departure from the band on August 28, 2009, as he declared he "simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer".

In celebration of Oasis's legendary performances at Knebworth Park in Hertfordshire, the documentary 'Oasis Knebworth 1996' was released in 2021, marking the anniversary of their monumental 1995 album What's The Story (Morning Glory).

The upcoming film is set to be directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, with distribution by Sony Music Vision.
