BBC Gladiators' Bradley Walsh warned by co-star 'I'll send you out' after cheeky swipe
by Hamaiz Iqbal · NottinghamshireLiveGladiators captivated audiences with its tense quarter-final episode on Saturday, where returning contenders faced new challenges.
Lewis triumphed in the Unleash challenge against Hammer, navigating an obstacle course and snagging a flag with glee.
Yet, referee Mark Clattenberg made viewers wait as he meticulously reviewed footage before awarding Lewis ten points, saying, "I can confirm that you did it, and I can give you ten points."
Host Bradley Walsh couldn't resist a quip, retorting: "I'm not being funny but I could have told you that, could have saved you faffing around on the telly."
Unimpressed, Mark told the host, "Bradley, I'm the referee of the arena, any more of your back chat and I'll send you out of the arena," reports the Mirror.
The crowd jeered as Bradley theatrically grimaced, leading Mark to signal assistant referee Sonia Mkoloma to address the host's behaviour.
Sonia warned Bradleu about his 'back chat' before she and Lee Phillips comically escorted him away.
Caught up in the moment, the TV star bellowed in support of the contestant: "Ten points for Lewis, ten points for Lewis, I say," just as the show cut to Hammer backstage with his fellow Gladiators.
Viewers quickly took to X, previously known as Twitter, relaying their delight at this entertaining clash.
One viewer remarked, "That's Bradley being told off by Mark Clattenberg. Anyway, it's time for The Wall #Gladiators."
Another fan shared their thoughts: "#Gladiators Ooh, Mark telling off Bradley! Get him out of here!".
A different viewer queried: "Mr Clattenberg can get rid of the hosts? #Gladiators."
Yet another enthusiast observed: "Lewis held on to the flag... JUST! 10 points for him and a warning for Bradley! #Gladiators."
Despite his efforts, Lewis could not surpass fellow contestant Joe and consequently missed out on advancing to the next stage of the competition.
Gladiators continues next Saturday at 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
