Britain's Got Talent fans 'switch off' show after 'disgusting' Auzzy Blood performance

by · NottinghamshireLive

Viewers of Britain's Got Talent were left stunned after a jaw-dropping performance by Auzzy Blood, a professional sword swallower, which pushed the limits of what is acceptable on television. Auzzy Blood, a three-time Guinness World Record holder, is renowned for his daredevil stunts, but some fans felt his act went too far, with many taking to X (formerly Twitter) to express their unease, labelling it "disturbing" and raising concerns over its suitability for a prime-time audience.

During his audition, Auzzy Blood took his body manipulation and sword-swallowing skills to new extremes, leaving the judges and audience aghast. However, not everyone was impressed, with some branding the performance as "gross" and arguing that it shouldn't have been broadcast.

One viewer tweeted: "Auzzy Blood probably the most disturbing thing I've seen! what makes someone think I'm going to try and shove a metal hook up my nose."

Comments flooded in after Auzzy Blood's performance on Britain's Got Talent, with one viewer exclaiming: "Ohh my God Auzzy that was flipping mad that was hard to watch but wow that was brilliant at the same time."

Another penned: "I'm actually terrified but amazed at Auzzy Blood rn," reports the Mirror.

A third shared their mix of horror and fascination: "Well, I loved the hook guy, Auzzy Blood! Terrifying, gruesome and my throat and nose hurt just watching him but he's unique!" One viewer disapproved: "AUZZY BLOOD on BGT was disgusting, not entertainment, pre watershed and a terrible example to children watching a supposed family show."

While another simply couldn't bear it: "Can't watch Auzzy Blood! what a weirdo! I've changed channel."

Curiosity and concern were evident as another wrote: "How horrific is that act? OMG so not suitable for kids to watch. One question though - How on earth would you even know you can do that? #BritainsGotTalent."

Auzzy Blood shocked audiences with his extreme performance on the 2022 edition of America's Got Talent and continued to stun viewers on the Spanish version of the show in 2023. His sword-swallowing act took the danger to a new level, prompting Ant and Dec to urge caution to viewers not to mimic it at home.

Simon Cowell had previously hinted at the controversial nature of the act when he said: "It's spooky horror where you don't want to watch it, but you do want to watch it. That's obviously why we're going to show it. We probably will get some complaints. Hopefully."

He also joked about safety warnings by adding: "I love it when they say 'don't try this at home' like we've all got screws and things just waiting to do that."

Despite the startling nature of the performance, Simon insisted that it remains suitable for children to watch and will be aired before the 9pm watershed.
