Alison Hammond's son Aidan may leave home after disputes with the This Morning star

Aidan Hammond, the son of television favourite Alison Hammond, has shared an intimate glimpse into his upbringing, specifically how he would escape to his grandma's abode during conflicts with his mother.

Now 20 years old and carving a path as an aspiring DJ, Aidan was welcomed into the world in 2005, son to Alison and her then-partner Noureddine Boufaied. Although the couple parted ways in 2014, they've maintained a united front in raising their child.

During a conversation on the Spin Justice podcast, Aidan reminisced about retreating to his grandmother's house just across the street whenever tensions rose at home: "When we were in the flat, she had a house pretty much opposite us, so we could literally leave and run across the road. So when my mum was doing my head in, I'd just go to my nan's (house)."

He warmly remembered his deep connection with his nan throughout his younger years: "It was really nice, because like I said, we were very, very close."

Regrettably, Maria, Alison's mother, succumbed to lung and liver cancer in January 2020, leaving a void five years ago, reports the Mirror.

Alison Hammond, first emerging into the public eye on Big Brother in 2002, has since become a familiar face on British TV, particularly with her role on This Morning.

Her journey began as a roving reporter, where her effervescent nature shone through at various locations across the UK; now, she enjoys a more prominent spot presenting alongside Dermot O'Leary.

The effervescence that Alison is known for will soon light up our screens anew, as she joins her son Aidan and her sister Saundra for the latest series of Celebrity Gogglebox, which airs tonight.

Yet, this is not the debut of Alison appearing on-screen with her son, as they have previously teamed up in Alison Hammond's Florida Unpacked.

In the programme, the duo explores Florida on a shoestring budget, guiding audiences to the state's lesser-known but stunning attractions. Their adventures include paddling in Silver Springs and discovering Miami.

Alison expressed her enthusiasm about joining Celebrity Gogglebox, stating: "I'm so excited to be doing Celebrity Gogglebox with my son Aidan."

She went on to add: "We've always loved watching telly together, and now we get to do it on the sofa for the nation! It's a real family affair too, because my fabulous sister Saundra is getting involved as well. Expect laughs, eye-rolls, and lots of commentary – classic Hammond style!".
