Super Mario Galaxy Movie Streaming Release Date Confirmed (US)
Bring the adventure home
by Ollie Reynolds · Nintendo LifeThe Super Mario Galaxy Movie released earlier this year to great success, being the first (and currently only) 2026 movie to surpass $1 billion at the box office.
Now, those in the US can look forward to experiencing the sequel in the comfort of their own home when it launches on the Peacock streaming service on 30th July 2026.
According to UPI, the release will also contain some bonus content, including a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the movie and a podcast featuring Brie Larson as she dives into her love of games and her experience in playing the role of Rosalina.
Of course, you'll need to have an active subscription to Peacock in order to watch the movie. Alternatively, it's already available on physical media in the US, with a UK release following on 20th July 2026. So if you're a fan of collecting 4K discs like we are, then you might want to opt for that.
In our review of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, we praised its faithful visuals and impressive animation, but noted that its plot was lacklustre and overstuffed with references. It's still worth a watch, mind you, and children in particular will absolutely love it.

Nice, happy for those in the US interested in watching the Galaxy movie in this way - personally, I watched it at the cinema twice (day one on my own and later together with my friends) and now I've preordered the Italian DVD... eventually I'd like to get the Japanese one, too!
I just picked up the 4K disc last night. It came with a movies anywhere code, so I can stream this whenever I want now.
Side note, I don't understand why it's called a Collector's Edition, or why the first movie was called the Power Up Edition when buying it on 4K, but the fact that they couldn't stay consistent with the edition names... Well it doesn't anger me, but it annoys me more than it should...

Oh I didn’t even realize the physical 4K was out already. I’ll snag that once it gets cheaper. Would love to rewatch it in the living room!

I intended to go to the Cinema to watch it but never got around to it as life just gets in the way.
It's available on Sky Store but it'll cost me more to watch it on there than it would have at the Cinema so I think I'll just wait for it to come to the regular Sky Movies channels
I get Peacock once a year to watch new seasons of Twisted Metal. Maybe my library will get the disc before then.
@KayFiOS Most companies do that for some of their Blu-ray & 4K releases these days. Back then it was DVDs that did mostly.
It's pretty standard imo nowadays.
Though...I'll get this when it hits bargain price...at least for the blu-ray or DVD, that is.

I can at least say that thanks to the movies, my nephew now knows who Toad, Donkey Kong, Bowser, Bowser Jr., Peach, Rosalina and Yoshi are. I need to check if he also remembers Fox, R.O.B., the Pikmin and Mr. Game & Watch as well. Before The Super Mario Bros. Movie he only knew Mario and Luigi.
Might watch Galaxy again with him before the third movie comes out.
Mind you, he's 4 years old (almost 5) but I don't want him near a video game, at least not right now.

Finally, I can watch it at the end of July.
I’ve been sitting on my 4K/digital copies since June 16th. Already watched it about 4 times since.

This will probably be how I watch it as it was way to expensive to rent or buy on Amazon. If thia was the first movie it would of been watched by now but I don't have to high expectations for this one, still seems like it'll be a fun movie though.
