PSA: Hitman: Absolution's Switch 2 Upgrade Path Is Free For Now, But Be Quick!

Limited-time freebie

Hitman: Absolution - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition finally snuck onto the new console earlier this week, and it's free to all those who own the game on Switch 1! At least, it's free for now.

Yes, as flagged by Feral Interactive, the upgrade path to the Switch 2 edition is only free until 4th November, while the game itself is subject to a 10% launch discount. From 5th November onwards, the upgrade pack will set you back $9.99 / £4.99 / €4,99, while the game will bump up to its full price of $39.99 / £24.99 / €29,99.

It's a small price to pay for a Switch 2 upgrade, we'll admit, but we don't want anyone missing out on the chance to pick it up for free. Consider this your two-week warning!

The new Switch 2 edition boasts improved resolution, a 60fps target, Mouse Mode support and the new Contracts Mode for some online challenges.

And those after a physical edition are in luck, as Limited Run Games has announced that it's handling exactly that, with pre-orders opening next week.

It's free now even if you DON'T own the game, so you can pick it up anyway, in case you get the game in the future!

Love to hear that you can get the upgrade for free even if you don't have the Switch version yet, definitely doing that now then and eventually I'll get the game itself - looking forward to giving this a try at some point and even more so now that it got a Switch 2 version (I should play World of Assassination first and foremost though also considering that I already have it)!
