On Friday, Mohammed Siraj took the opportunity to pay his respects to the late Diogo Jota. The Indian pacer got the wicket of Jamie Smith in the second session on Day 2 at Lord’s. He then gestured to the dressing room, signing ’20’. Jota wore 20 at Liverpool, which has since been retired.

Siraj eventually ended with figures of 2/85 in 23 overs. The Indian spearhead struggled on Day 1 but dismissed both Smith and Brydon Carse to pull the curtains on the England innings. Carse and Smith both scored half centuries after India had a ball change.
