Blackpink Superstar Rosé Tapped for LACMA’s Art+Film Gala
by Tessa Solomon · ARTnewsK-pop star Rosé will perform at LACMA’s upcoming Art+Film Gala on November 7.
The Blackpink vocalist joins the museum’s 15th annual fundraiser, which will honor Latvian American artist Vija Celmins, long celebrated for her meticulous renderings of the natural world, and Denis Villeneuve, the director behind cerebral sci-fi hits Dune and Arrival. The event is presented again by Gucci, with actor Leonardo DiCaprio and LACMA trustee Eva Chow returning as co-chairs.
“The LACMA Art+Film Gala celebrates creative icons and the connections between all forms of creativity, all around the world,” said Chow in a statement. “As a global pop superstar, Rosé will amplify the spirit of the evening with her incomparable talent and style.”
As its name suggests, the Art+Film Gala each year honors a visual artist and a filmmaker, and has become a fixture of Los Angeles’s art calendar since its first edition in 2011, which was dedicated to John Baldessari and Clint Eastwood. The 2025 gala raised $6.5 million, a figure slightly higher than the $6.4 million it brought in the previous year.
Rosé follows a roster of high-profile musical guests that includes Doja Cat in 2025, Annie Lennox in 2017, and Charli XCX, who brought out Troye Sivan as a surprise guest for her 2024 performance. Rosé’s appearance at the Art+Film Gala is hardly a first: she attended in both 2022 and 2023. Beyond Blackpink’s stratospheric success, her debut solo studio album, rosie, has surpassed 10 billion streams, buoyed by “APT.” That hit collaboration with Bruno Mars earned her three Grammy nominations.
For those who can afford a ticket, which start at $10,000, say hello to the number one girl.
