Amy Hart, 31 year old former Love Island contestant, has lifted the lid on the realities of life in the villa, sharing behind-the-scenes secrets about her time on the show in 2019.
In a video that gained over 5 million views, Amy tackled a frequently asked question from fans, including what happens when contestants get their period during the two-month-long series.
Addressing the camera, Amy said: "I've had this so many times in all the comments. I don't really understand what you think I'm going to say, like we're segregated in another room, only allowed to wear black bikinis? We just get on with it like you would do if you're on holiday."
Amy confessed that she had attempted to avoid having a period while filming by trying to run her "pill packs together". However, her plan wasn't foolproof, as she explained: "because I didn't want to have a period while I was in there and the doctor was like, 'Yeah, that's not going to work', and I was like, 'It will, it will'. And it did work until it didn't, which was annoying. But yeah, you just get on with it."
Amy captioned the video: "I understand everyone is different and they'd make allowances I'm sure. I was just talking about my experience and meant we weren't banished."
In additional behind-the-scenes details, another islander recently shared how contestants manage to smoke and vape during their stay in the villa.
Ellie Spence, who entered the villa as a bombshell in 2023 and coupled up with Jordan Odofin before being sent home from South Africa due to low public votes, revealed that smokers among the Islanders were only allowed to leave the villa at designated times and would "fight" over who got to go.
Ellie said: "Everyone smoked or vaped. So we would all fight to go out at dinner time or lunch time. You could only really go at those times. I used to wake up at breakfast, I was that stressed, I was like 'let me go out for a vape!
"One day I just opened the door. I was so stressed and no-one was replying to me. I just opened the door and was like 'I'm going for a vape!' and they were like 'what are you doing?' over the tannoy."
Love Island: All Stars is currently airing on ITV2 and ITVX every night at 9PM
