Ex I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! contestant Kim Woodburn has shared her thoughts on Coleen Rooney signing up to the show, despite her reported millions. Kim, 82, believes that Coleen, unlike other contestants, wasn't drawn to the show by her reported £1.5million fee, but for a more personal reason.
She said: "I don't know the lady, I've never met the lady, I can't imagine why she'd want to go in, she's got a great amount of money. It's possible that she wants to see how far she copes. I don't know why she's going in. If I had all her money [I wouldn't], but maybe she wants to prove to her sons or maybe she wants some limelight for a change, without her husband."
The Rooneys boast a reported combined fortune of £115 million, thanks to Wayne's football career, sponsorship deals, and other investments. With this in mind, Kim echoed: "I don't know anything bad about her, why she's doing it when she's worth millions [I don't know], but maybe she wants to prove to her family that your mum is a toughie, maybe she is, I wait to see."
Coleen says every day life for her mostly consists of juggling commitments with her four sons — Kai, 15, Klay, 11, Kit, eight, and Cass, six — so will therefore find jungle life a stark contrast to her normal routine. She's previously remarked on the chaos of maintaining the household in Cheshire, while Wayne lives in Devon due to being the head coach for Plymouth Argyle.
Opening up to The Mirror about their "hectic" situation, she said: "The key thing is I'm really organised. Preparation is key and just to make sure everything's done beforehand. I think that is my main strength."
Although Wayne is some miles away, Coleen considers it "a bonus" that he's still in England after his previous stint in America. Looking ahead to her time in Australia, the reality star shared on Instagram: "I would like to experience it; something different, do something for myself and meet new people."
Admitting her new adventure has come with some apprehensions however, she continued: "Don't get me wrong, I'm really anxious about leaving the kids."
Coleen has arranged for friends and family to step in during her jungle adventure and she's confident the kids are going to "have a great time".
To ensure her boys feel her presence, she added: "I've written them all a little card to open when they come home from school tomorrow and a little teddy so that they know that I am constantly thinking of them."
