The top-rated Netflix original series has been revealed and it might not be the one you had in mind.
CasinoDays has compiled a list of the most buzzed-about shows of 2024, with Arcane season two clinching the top spot with an impressive average audience rating of 94.1 out of 100.
The steampunk action-adventure series made a triumphant return with its second instalment in November last year, but fans were left heartbroken upon discovering that it would be the show's final season.
Coming in at a close second is the third season of Heartstopper, boasting an average audience rating of 93.8 out of 100.
The third chapter of the teen romance series was eagerly awaited, having amassed a large fanbase due to its relatable coming-of-age stories, reports the Mirror.
The series primarily centres on Charlie Spring (Joe Locke) and Nick Nelson (Kit Connor), exploring their relationship, friendships and experiences.
Securing the third spot is the Japanese reality dating show The Boyfriend, which debuted its first series on the streaming platform in July and holds a rating of 93.6.
The show has made history as the first same-sex dating show from Japan, and it's been so well-received that it's already been renewed for a second season.
In fourth place is The Lincoln Lawyer season three, with an audience rating of 89.5 out of 100.
This legal drama series is based on Michael Connelly's 2008 novel The Brass Verdict, which serves as a sequel to his novel The Lincoln Lawyer.
The Diplomat's second season is next in line with a score of 88.1, followed closely by One Hundred Years of Solitude (86.9), American Nightmare (86.9), Baby Reindeer (86.0) and Nobody Wants This at 85.7.
Completing the top ten list is the romantic drama One Day, which debuted on Netflix in February and has an average audience rating of 85.0.
Netflix had a fantastic run last year, ending on a high note with the much-awaited second series of Squid Game.
The second series garnered a whopping 126.2 million views since its release on December 26, surpassing any other Netflix series in that timeframe.
The thriller series broke records on Netflix's charts with the largest debut ever, racking up 68 million views in just four days and adding another 58.2 million views in its first full week.
Upon its release, it made the list of most popular non-English language series but has now climbed from number seven to number two, only being outdone by the first season of the hit show.
