Zoe Ball is poised for a significant television comeback, having been announced to join an adored BBC programme.

The esteemed host recently decided to step away from her stint at BBC Radio 2's breakfast show, after an impressive six years anchoring the early slot.

She stated that her motivation was to dedicate more time to her family, especially in light of her mother, Julia's, cancer-related passing, the Mirror reports.

Zoe penned her name into the record books in 2019 by becoming the inaugural woman to present the renowned BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, following Chris Evans' departure.

Her induction was seen as a groundbreaking achievement for the broadcaster. Not straying far from TV screens, Zoe also entertained viewers on Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two from 2011 until 2021, earning a dedicated fanbase thanks to her thorough interviews and exclusive peeks at the beloved dance show.

Now, merely months after her radio farewell, it has been disclosed that Zoe will be assuming a fresh and exhilarating role on television as she joins forces with the upcoming series of Who Do You Think You Are?

In this hit BBC series, celebrities explore their lineage, unravelling familial mysteries and connections to history.

A source divulged to The Sun: "Zoe comes from a famous family, but not much is known beyond that. She was thrilled to be invited onto the show and is eager to discover what they uncover about her roots."

Zoe Ball's comeback to television is making headlines just days after she was seen embracing a quieter lifestyle, even lending a hand at her local café in Sussex.

The ex-BBC presenter, previously one of the highest earners at the corporation, has been spotted working at The Big Beach Café in Hove, which is owned by her former husband, the renowned DJ and record producer Norman Cook, also known as Fatboy Slim.

Their son, Woody Cook, has offered a glimpse into his parents' more subdued life recently. In a conversation with MailOnline, he revealed: "In the last five years, it's been funny watching my parents take up gardening. These crazy party people I grew up with are now gardening, making puzzles, and working in the local café."

Despite their separation in 2020 after being married since 1999, Zoe and Norman have maintained a cordial relationship, often seen together around their hometown.

With her return to the small screen on 'Who Do You Think You Are?', Zoe is set to reveal a new facet of herself to viewers as she delves into the roots of her family history.
