Tributes have flooded in for Hollyoaks star Paul Danan after it was announced today he had passed away aged 46.

Paul's manager confirmed today (Thursday) the sad news of Paul's tragic death in a statement saying: "It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the passing of Paul Danan at just 46 years old. Known for his television presence, exceptional talent, and unwavering kindness, Paul was a beacon of light to so many. His untimely departure will leave irreplaceable voids in the lives of all who knew him.

"During this difficult time, we kindly request respect and privacy for Paul’s family, friends, and colleagues. No further comments will be made at this time."

Paul's cause of death is not yet known.

And many made tributes to the Big Brother star on social media.

Katie Price paid tribute to her ex writing: "Wow just speechless and shocked many memories I'll always remember RIP."

Scarlett Moffat wrote: "Sleep well."

Jake Quickenden also penned: "You was a top bloke with a heart of gold! Your penalty will forever make me laugh when we played footy together! Keep shining brother. RIP."

Danniella Westbrook also added that she is heartbroken. She said: "My worlds just stood still. I actually can't believe my beautiful friend has gone. From our days at school and through the years we've shared so many memories. I am devastated. My love and condolences to his family and his little boy. Paul may you rest in peace."
