‘DOOM: The Dark Ages’ Comes Home May 15, New Gameplay Trailer Rips Into Action [Watch]
by Mike Wilson · Bloody DisgustingSo, Nvidia didn’t quite give us that gameplay footage that were hoping for with DOOM: The Dark Ages. So, leave it to Bethesda to do that instead, revealing a new gameplay trailer during the Xbox Developers Direct. Even better? Mark your calendars for a May 15 release. Pre-orders are open now.
As expected, the trailer starts off in the most epic way possible as the Doomslayer suits up to rip and tear. We get plenty of footage of The Dark Ages’ Saw Shield in action, and even some footage of the Doomslayer riding a dragon that might tickle the memories of Panzer Dragoon fans.
Still not enough? How about the Doomslayer in a mech taking on a giant demon?
Bethesda also included a nearly 12-minute gameplay overview video, which sees id Software’s Marty Stratton and Hugo Martin go through what makes DOOM: The Dark Ages tick.
DOOM: The Dark Ages is a single-player action FPS that tells the epic cinematic origin story of the Doomslayer’s rage. You are the Doomslayer, the legendary demon-killing warrior and the super weapon in this never-before-seen dark and sinister medieval war against Hell. Inspired by the original Doom, players must overcome the odds in The Dark Ages in firmly grounded, heavy-hitting clashes featuring destructible demons, vicious melee strikes and more.
Look for DOOM: The Dark Ages later this year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and the PC via Steam. It’ll also be available on Xbox Game Pass.
