‘BRZRKR’ – Justin Lin Directing Ultra Violent Keanu Reeves Comic Book Movie

by · Bloody Disgusting

Launched in 2021, Keanu Reeves co-wrote and co-created a comic series titled BRZRKR, notable for featuring a badass hero made to look like Keanu Reeves himself. The idea, it seems, was always to turn the property into a movie, and that is indeed now happening.

THR reports tonight that Mattson Tomlin (The Batman) is writing the script for Netflix’s live action BRZRKR movie, with Justin Lin (Fast & Furious) coming on board to direct.

Keanu Reeves is starring in the film and producing.

BRZRKR is being described as a “brutally epic saga about an immortal warrior’s 80,000 year fight through the ages. The man known only as ‘B’ (Reeves) is half-mortal and half-god, cursed and compelled to violence… even at the sacrifice of his sanity. But after wandering the earth for centuries, B may have finally found a refuge – working for the U.S. government to fight the battles too violent and too dangerous for anyone else. In exchange, B will be granted the one thing he desires – the truth about his endless blood-soaked existence…and how to end it.”

Published by BOOM! Studios, the mega popular – and ultra-violent – BRZRKR comic book series was written by Keanu Reeves and Matt Kindt, and drawn by Ron Garney.

In addition to the live action movie, an anime series is also in the works. The original comic book series, meanwhile, spawned spinoffs and even a novel written by Reeves.
