Eternia is in good hands with the first official look at Nicholas Galitzine (The Idea of You) as He-Man wielding the Sword of Power in Masters of the Universe.

Production on the live-action film is currently underway in London for a June 5, 2026 release via Amazon MGM Studios.

Galitzine stars with Camila Mendes as Teela, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-at-Arms, and Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress.

The cast also includes Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Malcom/Fisto, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man, Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops, James Purefoy as King Randor, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena, Jon Xue Zhang as Ram-Man, Sasheer Zamata as Suzie, and Christian Vunipola as Hussein.

Travis Knight (Bumblebee) directs from a script by Chris Butler (ParaNorman), reworked from earlier drafts by David Callaham (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and Aaron & Adam Nee (The Lost City).

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the movie is expected to follow a young man who discovers his secret legacy as the prince of an alien planet. He must recover a magic sword and return home to protect his kingdom.

Mattel launched Masters of the Universe with a toy line in 1982 followed by the “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” cartoon from 1983-1985. The franchise now includes multiple animated series, toy lines, comics, video games, and books, along with a 1987 live-action film.
