‘Opus’ Trailer – New A24 Horror Movie Looks Like ‘The Menu’ With a Sadistic Pop Star
by John Squires · Bloody DisgustingA24’s first new horror movie of 2025 is writer-director Mark Anthony Green’s Opus, and the official trailer invites you to the remote compound of a legendary pop star this morning.
Watch the official trailer for A24’s Opus below, which looks like a bit of a mix of Mark Mylod’s The Menu (2022) and Zoë Kravitz’s Blink Twice (2024). The theme of these three horror movies is clear: don’t meet your heroes. And celebrities, well, they can be pretty goddamn scary.
“There’s no cult like celebrity,” after all.
Opus will release in theaters on March 14, 2025.
Ayo Edebiri (The Bear) and John Malkovich (Billions) star in A24’s Opus alongside Amber Midthunder (Prey) and Juliette Lewis (“Yellowjackets”), Murray Bartlett (“The White Lotus”), Stephanie Suganami (Power Book II: Ghost), Young Mazino (Beef), Tony Hale (Woman of the Hour) and Tatanka Means (Killers of the Flower Moon).
The film has been described as “flashy pop horror” as well a “tense, psychosocial game of cat and mouse.”
In Opus, “A young writer is invited to the remote compound of a legendary pop star who mysteriously disappeared 30 years ago. Surrounded by the star’s cult of sycophants and intoxicated journalists, she finds herself in the middle of his twisted plan.”
