Beyond Fest Chicago Inaugural Event to Open with ‘Obsession’ and Close with ‘Faces of Death’

Last year, it was announced that Beyond Fest was teaming with Music Box Theatre for Beyond Chicago. Today brings

Beyond Chicago will unleash 30 features across the Music Box Theatre’s historic screens from April 2-5.

Opening Night brings Curry Barker’s terrifying Obsession, while Closing Night hosts the World Premiere of Daniel Goldhaber‘s audacious reinvention of the seminal Video Nasty shock doc, Faces of Death on stomach-churning 35mm.

In addition to buzzy premieres and festival favorites, look for Beyond Chicago to bring excitement to repertory screenings. Cinema icon and superhero Meiko Kaji, for example, makes her triumphant return to the U.S. for her first-ever Chicago appearance to discuss her incredible four-decade career. Kaji will attend three incredibly rare of gems like Lady Snowblood.
