Throwback FPS ‘Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War!’ Announced for PC, Consoles [Trailer]

With Warhammer 40K: Boltgun devs Auroch Digital at the helm, players will be dropped into the Starship Troopers universe once again next year in the retro-styled first-person shooter Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War! for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, the Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam. The reveal is accompanied by a trailer featuring General Johnny Rico himself, Casper Van Dien!

Players are being asked to do their part in the fight against the Arachnid menace, which has spread far from their home planet of Klendathu, and has begun invading human territory across the galaxy. You are Major Samantha Dietz, a member of the Mobile Infantry in an original Starship Troopers story. You must lead your squads through battlefields in a solo campaign packed with missions, secrets, and of course, plenty of bugs to squash. The ultimate goal, of course, is to gain citizenship. Are you up to the task?

You’ll have plenty of weapons to choose from in your campaign to annihilate the Arachnid menace. From the classic Morita rifle to mechanical bipeds, tactical nukes and more, you’ll have at your disposal over 30 iconic weapons and items. And of course, motivating your along the way will be Johnny Rico himself in full, high-quality full-motion video.
