Save the Date: R.L. Stine Reveals ‘Fear Street: Prom Queen’ Release Date

Stine begins today in a special IGN Fan Fest video for Netflix’s upcoming Fear Street: Prom Queen. The video heralds in the slasher’s official release date.
Fear Street: Prom Queen is coming to Netflix on May 23, 2025.
Four years after an epic streaming event that saw the premiere of three Fear Street movies across three weeks, the R-rated fourth installment of the film series fittingly arrives around prom season.
Fear Street: Prom Queen is set between Fear Street: 1994 and Fear Street: 1978. Matt Palmer (Calibre) is directing the franchise’s brand new fourth installment.
In the upcoming horror movie, “Welcome back to Shadyside. In this next installment of the blood-soaked Fear Street franchise, prom season at Shadyside High is underway, and the school’s wolfpack of It Girls is busy with its usual sweet and vicious campaigns for the crown. But when a gutsy outsider is unexpectedly nominated to the court, and the other girls start mysteriously disappearing, the class of ’88 is suddenly in for one hell of a prom night.”
The ensemble cast includes India Fowler (The Nevers, Insomnia), Suzanna Son (Red Rocket, The Idol), Fina Strazza (Paper Girls, Above the Shadows), David Iacono (The Summer I Turned Pretty, Cinnamon), Ella Rubin (The Idea of You), Chris Klein (American Pie), with Lili Taylor (Outer Range) and Katherine Waterston (The End We Start From).
Ariana Greenblatt, Darrin Baker, Rebecca Ablack, Ilan O’Driscoll, Damian Romeo, Dakota Taylor, Eden Summer Gilmore, Brennan Clost, and Cecilia Lee also star.
Matt Palmer & Donald Mcleary wrote the screenplay, based on R.L. Stine’s book. Fear Street is a young adult horror fiction book series written by Stine, starting in 1989 with The New Girl.
