“The story of Mother Mary is just beyond words,” says Anne Hathaway, who stars as the titular pop icon.

“You haven’t seen anything like this before,” adds Michaela Coel, who plays the singer’s estranged best friend.

The psychosexual thriller opens in New York and Los Angeles on April 17 before hitting theaters nationwide on April 24 via A24.

Long-buried wounds rise to the surface when iconic pop star Mother Mary reunites with her estranged best friend and former costume designer Sam Anselm on the eve of her comeback performance.

Hunter Schafer, Atheena Frizzell, Kaia Gerber, Jessica Brown Findlay, Alba Baptista, Isaura Barbé-Brown, Sian Clifford, and FKA Twigs round out the cast.

The movie features original songs by Jack Antonoff, Charli xcx, and FKA Twigs. Two singles, “Burial” and “My Mouth Is Lonely for You,” are streaming now.
