Leon Kennedy's in Resident Evil Requiem, PlayStation Store cover art leak confirms
There he be, the spooksman
· Rock Paper ShotgunBreak out your finest middle-parted hairdo, as Leon Kennedy's in Resident Evil Requiem. The Resi 2 and Resi 4 protagonist's presence has been leaked by the evil resident that is cover art being pushed out too early on the PlayStation Store, which is like Steam, but a bit more blue.
The art, which shows big Leon's bonce looming behind Requiem lead and FBI agent Grace Ashcroft, has been served to players who've pre-ordered the game's standard edition for their console boxes and subsequently tried to set it away pre-loading.
Up to this point, Capcom hadn't confirmed whether the man with the jacket would be in Requiem. This art popping up days before The Geoff Awards, which Resi Requiem's already been confirmed to be popping up at, seems to point to that appearance probably being when Capcom had planned to go 'oh look, it's jacket man'. Now, if that's the case and there's no other big news, you can maybe use the time for a well-earned mid-advert swarm breather.
While this Leon leakage has just occurred today, the last few days have also seen another bit of potential Requiem leakage squirm out of containment. Game retailers Gamestop briefly left some details which could hint at another character in their listing for the PC deluxe edition. As spotted by Dusk Golem, the listing mentioned "three exclusive outfits for Rosemary Winters" and "a unique cosmetic look for Rose’s visor" in some blurb about DLC packs.
Rosemary Winters, of course, is the daughter of Resident Evil Village protagonist Ethan Winters. Assuming she does turn out to be in the game, that leak doesn't make it clear if she'll just be popping in for a chat or getting the full playable character treatment. Whatever's the case, it would appear Capcom have her wardrobe sorted.
Moving away from who'll be in it, Capcom have said Resi Requiem will dodge the technical gremlins Monster Hunter Wilds has suffered since it emerged into the plains and began lobbing stuff at angry creatures.
