‘Superfakes’ Ordered At Peacock From ‘Beef’ Writer Alice Ju

Peacock has greenlit a new crime drama from Universal Studio Group’s Universal Content Productions under the working title Superkakes. Per the official logline, Superfakes follows a small-time Chinatown luxury counterfeit dealer, who upon entering the dangerous underworld of the black market has her life forever changed as she tries to balance the perfect suburban existence for her family with her criminal dealings.

Superfakes is created, written and executive produced by Alice Ju, who also serves as showrunner. Ju also serves as a writer Peacock series Poker Face starring Natasha Lyonne, whom she also worked with on the Netflix series Russian Doll. Josh Safdie and Benny Safdie (Uncut Gems) will produce alongside Howard Klein and Olivia Gerke of 3 Arts and Ronald Bronstein and Eli Bush.

No cast is currently attached to Superfakes, nor has there been any announcement on how many episodes will be produced or when this will be streamed.
