FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS CinemaCon Footage Confirms Sue Storm is Pregnant

Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm is officially pregnant in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Fans had speculated this was the case, but CinemaCon’s behind-closed-doors footage just confirmed it.

The exclusive clip featured a family dinner where Sue shares the big news. And just when things get nice and cozy, Julia Garner’s Silver Surfer shows up with a stark warning: Earth has been marked for destruction.

For longtime comic fans, it signals the potential arrival of Franklin Richards, Sue and Reed’s son, who just happens to be one of the most powerful mutants in Marvel canon.

I also want to point out that we haven’t seen a pregnant superhero in action trying to save the world in a movie before, at least not that I can think of. That tension, that vulnerability, will add a new layer of emotional stakes.

So, we can safley assume that Franklin will show up at some point later down the road, maybe in Avengers: Doomsday. That’s still under wraps. But Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige recently confirmed there are still more names to be revealed for that film.

Paul Walter Hauser, who plays an undisclosed role in Fantastic Four, is all-in on what this movie represents:

"I believe that this will go down in history as one of the ones that started a new tide of successful storytelling for the company. Sort of in the same way the Guardians of the Galaxy and Black Panther hit. They both hit in a certain way. I believe we are about to hit."

Set in a 1960s-inspired futuristic world, First Steps introduces a fresh take on Marvel’s first family and the rest of the cast includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm.

Julia Garner takes on the role of Silver Surfer, while Ralph Ineson plays the planet-eater himself, Galactus. Hauser’s role is still under wraps, which only adds to the mystery.
