Hasbro’s G.I. Joe Classified Thunder Machine Is Finally Here and It Looks Awesome
by Joey Paur · GeekTyrantI’m a huge G.I. Joe fan and when I was a kid, the Thunder Machine was easily one of my favorite vehicles. It was weird, aggressive, cobbled together, and completely perfect for the Dreadnoks.
Ever since Hasbro started expanding its G.I. Joe Classified Series with larger vehicles, I’ve been waiting for this beast to get its turn. Well, it finally happened!
Hasbro has officially unleashed the G.I. Joe Classified Series #244 Dreadnok Thunder Machine, and it looks awesome. The vehicle is now up for pre-order exclusively through Hasbro Pulse as a made-to-order project, bringing Thrasher’s scrapyard war machine into the 6-inch Classified Series at an impressive level of detail.
Priced at $124.99, the Dreadnok Thunder Machine is designed to work with standard 6-inch G.I. Joe Classified Series figures and gives collectors a couple of different ways to display it.
You can keep the vehicle closer to its classic vintage appearance or turn it into a more customized scrapyard monstrosity using removable and modular armor panels, alternate bodywork, and adjustable components.
That customization feels especially right for the Thunder Machine. This thing was always supposed to look like the Dreadnoks built an assault vehicle out of whatever nasty pieces of machinery they could get their hands on. A pristine, polished version almost wouldn’t feel right.
Hasbro also loaded it with plenty of firepower. The vehicle features dual rotating Gatling cannons, twin missile launchers with eight removable missiles, and functional steering.
There are also ports for Hasbro blast effects, which are sold separately, allowing collectors to add firing effects to the weapons and exhaust pipes when putting together displays or toy photography.
The cockpit and driver’s area have been fully detailed and sized for Classified Series figures. Figures aren’t included with the vehicle, so you’ll need to supply your own Dreadnoks to cause trouble.
Considering how much the Classified line has expanded the gang over the years, finding someone to stick behind the wheel shouldn’t be much of a problem.
Hasbro is finishing the package with a collector-grade box featuring custom G.I. Joe Classified Series artwork, which should make this one pretty damn cool even before you crack it open and start attaching armor and missiles.
The G.I. Joe Classified Thunder Machine is available exclusively through Hasbro Pulse for $124.99, with pre-orders scheduled to close on October 23, 2026. The current estimated release date is September 1, 2027.
This is exactly the kind of vehicle I’ve wanted to see Hasbro tackle with the Classified Series. Watching the toy line revisit the vehicles I loved as a kid at this larger scale has been a blast, and the Thunder Machine was high on my personal wish list.
Seeing it finally happen, complete with the ridiculous Dreadnok engineering that made the original so memorable, hits the nostalgia button hard.
Now I just need to figure out where the hell I’m going to put it.
