Will Smith Recreates Scenes From THE MATRIX in His New Music Video "Beautiful Scars" with Big Sean

by · GeekTyrant

Will Smith has unveiled that Matrix project that he previously teased, and it’s a music video for his new single “Beautiful Scars,” which is a collaboration he did with Big Sean.

The video begins with a parody of the famous red pill/blue pill scene from The Matrix. Big Sean is in the Morpheus role, and he praises Smith for his “awesome career choices” over the years, but then mentions the one that Smith regrets.

Of course, Big Sean is referencing Smith’s decision to turn down the role of Neo in The Matrix. So, he offers Smith a choice… take the blue pill and everything stays as is, or take the red pill and go back to the ’90s to star in The Matrix.

Smith then decides to take both the blue and red pills, leading into the track. The music video goes on to recreate some of the iconic action sequences from The Matrix, with Smith in the role of Neo.

Those scenes include the dojo fight and Neo dodging the bullets being fired at him on the rooftop.

“Beautiful Scars” was released in conjunction with the announcement of Smith’s new album, Based on a True Story, which will be available in March.

I’ve never really been a fan of Smith’s music, but check out the video below and let us know what you think!
