NEON has released a red band trailer for the upcoming horro-comedy slasher film Hell of a Summer which comes from Stranger Things starFinn Wolfhard, who is the co-writer, co-director and star of film.

The movie looks like a fun modern day tribute to the classic summer camp slasher movies from the 1980s. It’s a campy film that horror movie fans are sure to enjoy.

Hell of a Summer follows 24-year-old camp counselor Jason Hochberg (Hechinger), who arrives at Camp Pineway thinking his biggest problem is that he feels out of touch with his teenage co-workers.

What he doesn’t know is that a masked killer is lurking on the campgrounds, brutally picking counselors off one by one.

Wolfhard wrote and directed the movie with Billy Bryk (Ghostbusters: Afterlife), who is also starring in the film. The cast also includes Fred Hechinger (Fear Street 1994), D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai (Reservation Dogs), Abby Quinn (Mad About You), and Pardis Saremi (Career Opportunities in Murder and Mayhem).

Wolfhard previously said: “I am so excited to be co-directing my first feature film. I get the chance to work with an incredible cast and crew, and to work with a company like 30WEST and Aggregate is a real dream.”

NEON will release Hell of a Summer in theaters on April 18, 2025.
