SUPERGIRL Final Trailer Reveals Kara’s Most Personal Battle Yet as Her Quest for Vengeance Begins

by · GeekTyrant

A brand-new trailer for Supergirl has landed, and if this latest footage is any indication, DC Studios is about to take audiences on a massive interstellar adventure packed with action, emotion, and a few fun team-ups.

With tickets now officially on sale ahead of the film’s theatrical and IMAX release later this month, Warner Bros. and DC are giving fans another look at what awaits Kara Zor-El in one of the most anticipated DCU movies of the year.

Directed by Craig Gillespie, Supergirl is the next major chapter in the DC Universe being developed by James Gunn and Peter Safran. The film sees Milly Alcock return as Kara Zor-El after making her first DCU appearance at the end of Superman.

The new trailer expands on the story that was teased in previous footage. Kara is spending her birthday on a distant world far from Earth when her life is turned upside down by a devastating tragedy.

That event puts her on a collision course with Krem of the Yellow Hills, played by Matthias Schoenaerts, setting off a revenge-fueled journey across the galaxy.

Along the way, Kara joins forces with Ruthye Marye Knoll, portrayed by Eve Ridley, a young girl who becomes an important companion on her mission.

Their search for justice takes them into dangerous territory and eventually brings them face-to-face with Jason Momoa’s Lobo, who looks every bit as chaotic and entertaining as fans hoped he would be.

One of the trailer’s standout moments also features David Corenswet as Superman. The footage offers a glimpse of Clark Kent giving Kara her iconic superhero suit while explaining why its colors are so bright, adding another connection between the two Kryptonian heroes and further tying Supergirl into the larger DCU narrative.

The official synopsis reads: “When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice.”

The film’s supporting cast includes David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze, and Ferdinand Kingsley as Elias Knoll. Gunn and Safran serve as producers, while Nigel Gostelow, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars P. Winther executive produce.

Everything shown in the latest trailer suggests that Supergirl is aiming for something very different from the traditional Earth-based superhero story.

Between the cosmic settings, revenge-driven plot, and the addition of fan-favorite characters like Lobo and Superman, the movie looks like it could deliver one of the DCU’s most exciting adventures yet.

Supergirl flies into theaters on June 26, 2026.
