Olly Murs cancels show at the last minute after he's struck down with illness
by Kate Wilson, Kiesha Dosanjh · PlymouthLiveOlly Murs fans were left disappointed after the singer cancelled his Dubai show just hours before he was set to take the stage. The 40 year old was scheduled to perform at Bla Bla Dubai on Thursday night but had to pull out due to a throat infection.
Olly shared the news on his Instagram stories, writing: "To everyone here in Dubai, unfortunately due to doctor's orders I am having to cancel tonight's show at Bla-Bla because of a throat infection. I'm so gutted. I look forward to coming back ASAP and will share new date information as soon as I can! Olly x".
This comes after Olly recently announced that he and former TOWIE star Mark Wright would be hosting a new Saturday breakfast show on Heart Radio, starting March 1, reports the Mirror.
In a promo video, Olly said: "I'm absolutely buzzing to be sharing my Saturday mornings with Wrighty and the Heart listeners. They've actually given us our own radio show – can you believe it! ?
"We have such a laugh off air, so I know we'll have a great time doing this together. Expect plenty of banter, big entertainment, and obviously a bit of healthy competition. Can't wait!!"
Olly Murs has kept himself pretty busy since his runner-up stint on The X-Factor's sixth series back in 2009. A firm fixture in the entertainment industry, he's not only cultivated a successful music career but also co-hosted The Xtra Factor with Caroline Flack in 2011.
His bond with Mark Wright is noteworthy too, often spotlighted since they hit it off at 2016's Soccer Aid charity football match. On a more personal note, Olly and Amelia Tank tied the knot on Osea Island, Essex, last year.
The couple just shared joyous news on social media with a photo of Olly cradling their newborn Madison in a car seat, captioning the post: "Our mini murs has arrived. Madison we love you so much already x." Madison made her grand entrance into the world on April 17, 2024.
