Coronation Street star shares 'first thing' Jack P. Shepherd needs to know after CBB exit
by Samantha Masters · PlymouthLiveColson Smith has shared the one thing he believes his Coronation Street co-star Jack P. Shepherd, 37, must know, as soon as he leaves the Celebrity Big Brother house.
During his stint on the reality show, Colson, 26, and Ben Price, 53, have been discussing Jack's progress on their podcast, On The Sofa.
In the latest episode, Colson, who was a contestant on the show last year, expressed happiness over his and Jack's favourite team Leeds United winning over the weekend.
"Leeds won 1-0, so we are the top of the championship," he began to tell Ben.
"This will be one of the first things that Jack needs to get told, none of the 'you've done fine, everything's great', you know, 'Hanni's (his fiancée) not left you', it's 'Leeds is at the top of the league, the podcast is at the top of the charts', that's all he needs to know."
"The double," Ben chimed in to say.
Giving a further insight into how Celebrity Big Brother works after a contestant is evicted, Colson said the stars are given around one minute to get prepared for the live interviews.
"You get like a 60-second briefing by the psychologist and head of press to tell you what's happened," he explained.
Quizzed on whether contestants would have a longer chat if something dramatic had gone on, Colson replied: "Well, no because contractually, you have to go and do that chat.
"So, you know how you get to the end of the catwalk and you have two questions, and then it goes to an ad break? That ad break is where you get briefed."
Colson has also previously defended his pal Jack after he was put up for nomination multiple times by his housemates.
Speaking to press, the actor said the David Platt star had been "completely himself".
"The reasons for nominations are people are just nominating him because he's Jack, sort of thing and I think he's doing really well," he shared.
"I think he's having fun. We're seeing sides of Jack who is excitable and playful but I think he's doing really, really well."
Jack has made it through to the final six alongside; Chris Hughes, Jojo Siwa, Danny Beard, Chesney Hawkes and Donna Preston.
The winner will be announced during the live final on April 25.
Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on ITV and ITVX.
