Coronation Street's David Platt star rages at cast-mate over decision for milestone

Jack P. Shepherd found himself at the centre of a playful tiff with his Coronation Street co-stars regarding plans to celebrate an important personal milestone.

On a recent episode of the On the Sofa podcast, Colson Smith, known for portraying Craig Tinker on the soap, made a surprise revelation to the David Platt actor.

Colson revealed that much to Jack's initial reluctance, there would be a "low-key" gathering involving just four friends to mark the special event.

Jack, who appeared to be clueless about the arrangements and insisted he had been none the wiser while at the gym, said they'd "go for a bit of food and then go out".

Colson expressed: "There is something that I need to broach with you on this subject and I don't quite know when the right time to do this is.

"Now is the right time, but you're very very against it. But I just need to tell you that it's happening, that there is a small group of us, which is only four people and then including yourself, that's five, but we have to tell you now that you are having a stag do."

When Jack contested, stating that Colson hadn't mentioned this to him, Colson countered by claiming they'd spoken about it at the gym and even had a meeting.

Despite Jack's denial of any such "f*****g meeting", Colson insisted it would indeed be a modest celebration. He then asked whether he could organise an "extravagant" stag do, to which Jack simply responded with a firm "no". However, at that point, co-star Ben Price couldn't resist suggesting they try axe-throwing.

Colson was on board with the idea of incorporating an activity into what he termed a "Jolly Boys' Outing", referencing a beloved episode of the iconic sitcom Only Fools and Horses.

When quizzed about his ideal stag do, Jack revealed: "But that's exactly it. I wouldn't have one."

In June 2024, news broke that Jack had popped the question to his long-time partner, Hanni Treweek, during a safari getaway in Tanzania.

Taking to Instagram to share the news, she said: "05.06.24 I said YES to forever!!!"
