Coronation Street star shares Jack P Shepherd CBB update as he warns 'I don't know if we can say'
by Danny Gutmann · PlymouthLiveCoronation Street actors Colson Smith and Ben Price provided an update on their co-star Jack P Shepherd's progress on Celebrity Big Brother during a recent episode of their On The Sofa podcast.
As the reality show nears its conclusion, departing Corrie star Colson expressed confusion about whether Jack had secured a spot in the final.
It was revealed that Jack was not among the celebrities at risk of eviction on (Tuesday, April 22). However, Colson wondered if another twist might be introduced, potentially leading to another celebrity's departure from the house.
Colson shared his uncertainty: "I don't know if we can say it or not, is he a finalist? Are we celebrating, I don't know."
Following the announcement on Sunday, April 20, that three celebrities would be evicted in the next round, Patsy Palmer, Ella Rae Wise, and Angellica Bell left the show on Tuesday.
After their departure, hosts Aj Odudu and Will Best confirmed that the remaining six celebrities - Chesney Hawkes, Chris Hughes, Danny Beard, Donna Preston, Jack P Shepherd, and JoJo Siwa - would indeed be competing in the final on Friday, April 25.
Meanwhile, Ben Price, who has portrayed Jack's on-screen sibling in Corrie for many years, expressed his pride in his co-star's achievements, regardless of whether he secures the ultimate accolade.
Speaking warmly about his fellow Corrie actor, he commented: "I think whatever happens, Shepherd's done fine. To me, I'm not so a**ed whether he wins or whatever, I'm like you've done fine, you're great, you're golden."
With Jack now in a strong position to take the top spot after reaching the final, Ben revealed what he believes has been the 37-year-old's strategy for success, stating: "He's obviously shutting his mouth."
He continued: "The bit in the hot tub he shut his mouth when they were talking about yesterday, he was a little bit like 'I'm getting out of here."
Ben also praised Jack's discreet approach during the show's nomination process: "And then in the nominations, he's been great, he's just straight back, I think it's 'you and I think it's you'."
Aside from his recent stint on Celebrity Big Brother, Jack is best known for his role as David Platt on Coronation Street, which he began playing in 2000 at the age of just 12.
