BBC Celebrity Traitors fans 'howling' over Tom Daley Round Table name blunder

by · PlymouthLive

Nikolas Omilana, known more commonly as Niko drew attention on the last episode of The Celebrity Traitors when eagle-eyed viewers saw he had misspelled his targets name.

Niko voted for sporting legend and Plymouth Olympian Tom Daley to be kicked off the show. However, how he spelt his name left fans chuckling, with him writing "Tom Daylee" on his board.

The British influencer, who is known for his pranks, came under fire on last night's (October 9) episode when he was accused at the Round Table of being a potential traitor. But the spelling failure wasn't the most spectacular punch line as the episode itself was left on a cliff-hanger.

It hasn't yet been revealed who will be voted off in the first Round Table of Celebrity Traitors as Niko and TV presenter Kate Garraway faced the largest number of votes to be kicked off the show as people feared they weren't faithful.

One eagle-eyed viewer, named Charlotte Walter, spotted the mishap and shared an image of the moment on X. Alongside the snap, she simply wrote: "We are so back."

In the photograph of the incident, you can see that Niko voted for the sporting legend to be kicked off the show but spelled Tom's surname incorrectly. This has led to some viewers speculating that the prankster intentionally did this on purpose.

After the picture was shared, one person wrote: "You just know he did it for the memes."

Another added: "He did this on purpose."

According to The Mirror, a third person said: "He knew what he was doing."

Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: "He knew exactly what he was doing, and that was the best part."

Misspellings are such a norm on the show that they are seen to be common occurrences that always sparks discussion.

Viewers think Niko was making a joke, as contestants in previous series have been known to spell names wrong quite often, much to the delight of many in the audience.

Thursday night saw the traitors commit their first murder as Alan Carr, Cat Burns and Jonathan Ross were told they needed to commit their first murder in plain sight.

They were informed they must touch the face of the faithful member they want to murder, with Alan being picked for the job due to the fact he is seen as unsuspecting. Viewers have since seen the funny man touch the face of one unlikely contestant.

Viewers watched in shock as Alan touched the face of singer Paloma Faith, who was left gutted by her early exit. However, she didn't learn of her fate straight away as her "slow death" meant she had to "attend her own funeral" as an iconic challenge returned.

Alongside Niko and Lucy, Paloma lay in a coffin as she waited for her fate to be revealed. It wasn't long before Paloma realised it was her, but the players chose to lock in Lucy, meaning they lost the chance to add £4,000 to their prize fund.
